Telford Tigers 1 are delighted to announce the signing of Warren Tait for the forthcoming season. Tait returns for his third year with the Tigers after joining the team in 2016 and being part of the EPL Championship winning team in 2016/17. Tait then briefly joined Nottingham Lions last season before returning to Telford. Tait scored 16 goals last season including an important goal in the semi-final of the NIHL North Playoff win over former team Hull Pirates. Warren will wear the number 32 shirt next season.
General Manager and Head Coach Tom Watkins said, “Warren was a huge part of the success of the team in the last two seasons. I was delighted when he returned mid-season last year. He gives us a lot of depth, experience and is very reliable with his performances. Consistency is key and you always know that Woz is going to turn up and play hard. He can skate all day long, his work ethic is second to none, covering a lot of ice every shift and is very reliable defensively. He is great in the locker room, sets a great example and is one of the leaders of the team. He doesn’t need a letter on his shirt to do that, he is vocal, encouraging and very competitive, he has a lot to offer.”
Tait commented, “I’ve enjoyed playing in Telford the last couple of seasons. We have a good bunch of guys in the locker room and have a lot of ability. I think we have a good mix of experience and youth and have a team that is again capable of competing for silverware.”
Warren’s own and loan shirts are available to order now for £100 each (Home and Away). Please see the own and loan registration page for more details and to register.
