#22 Silverthorn Reclassified. The Hexagon Telford Tigers can confirm that as of today, the 8th of November 2019, Jason Silverthorn is now eligible to play in the NIHL as a British Trained player following his acceptance as a British Citizen.
The reclassification of #22 Silverthorn will leave the National League side with just one overseas registered player in Czech national Dominik Florian, allowing the Hexagon Telford Tigers to recruit an additional import should the funds be available to do so.
The Hexagon Telford Tigers can also confirm club captain Jason Silverthorn has been given the all-clear to make a competitive return to the ice after a 6-week absence due to injury. Jason will go straight into the team after skating and training with the team for the last two weeks.’
Head Coach and General Manager, Tom Watkins commented, “We have been working with Jason over the last couple of months to help him make this a reality, it’s excellent news for the club but more importantly for Jason and his family.”
Watkins went on to say “We are looking forward to having Jason back in the roster for the weekend, we have been short benched over the last couple of weeks and having the club captain back on the ice will add some required experience to the lineup.”
Hexagon Telford Tigers 1 will next be in action on home ice on Saturday, 10th November against Hull Pirates. Match Night tickets available to purchase here!
