Defenceman Adam Jones is determined to stamp his mark on a second spell with NIHL 1 title-chasers Telford Tigers.
The 21-year-old was a key member of last season’s EPL-winning Tigers side, before joining Elite League outfit Guildford at the start of the year.
He then spent a short trial spell at former EIHL champions Belfast Giants, ahead of his arrival back in Shropshire this week.
Jones, who scored 17 points for Telford last season, will join the Tigers squad for the double-header against Bracknell Bees on Saturday and Sunday.
He said: “I’m happy to back at Telford, it obviously holds special memories from last year, and I am looking forward to helping the team progress and challenge for silverware this year”
Telford slipped from the top of the NIHL 1 standings last weekend when they lost 3-2 at fellow high-fliers Sheffield Steeldogs.
The Shropshire men have now won just once in nine games – and the arrival of Jones will offer a timely tonic to Tom Watkins’ shorthanded squad.
“It’s been great to get Adam back and he has fitted straight into the roster,” said Watkins.
“We picked Adam up from the airport earlier in the week and he has already trained with he team mates, old and new.”
Telford Tigers 1 travel to face Bracknell on Saturday night (6pm), before the return game at Telford Ice Rink on Sunday (6pm).
Telford Tigers 2, meanwhile, have just one game this weekend, against Coventry Blaze at the Skydome on Saturday (7.30pm).
