The Autocraft Telford Tigers are pleased to confirm that Equipment Manager Andy Phillips will continue in his role behind the bench for the 2025/26 season.
Andy has been a constant presence with the club since the mid-90s and returns once again to bring his vast knowledge and experience into another campaign. Known for his attention to detail and professionalism, Andy plays a key part in ensuring players are fully prepared both on and off the ice.
Andy said: “I’d been thinking about retiring for a couple of seasons and even spoke to Tom about it back in 2023. Last year, with my son Thomas involved at the club, I wanted one more season travelling with him before stepping away. I’d planned to bow out then, but with this being such a special milestone for the club, it felt right to see it through. After 30 years, now feels like the right time to finish, and I’m looking forward to ending on a high.”
Joining the Tigers in the mid-90s, Andy became a well-known voice on the Tigers Hotline before stepping into his long-standing role behind the scenes. Across three decades he has also worked with clubs including Paisley Pirates, Hull Thunder, Cardiff Devils, MK Kings, and MK Lightning, before returning to Telford under then head coach Claude Dumas in 2004. Along the way, Andy celebrated many league, cup, and playoff championships.

The players know they can rely on him, which allows them to focus fully on their game. Andy’s contribution behind the scenes is invaluable and we’re fortunate to have him as part of the Tigers setup once again and when he does choose to step away or retire, he will leave a huge hole to fill.”
