Assistant Coaches

Assistant Coaches are back for Tigers.Telford Tigers are pleased to announce the return of Barry Holyhead and Karl Creamer as Assistant Coaches for the 2021/22 season. Both coaches were part of the backroom staff during the 2019/20 league and cup double winning triumph and their return gives Head Coach Tom Watkins a wealth of experience to call on as the Tigers head into the forthcoming season.

Barry commented, “I am really looking forward to the new season – after eighteen months of strange times it will be good to get back to some kind of ‘normal’. Having the team back on the ice and fans back in the building is a step in the right direction. Tom has been busy recruiting players and putting everything into place for the season ahead. All 3 of us (myself, Tom and Karl) are raring to go in a bid to defend the two trophies from the 2019/20 season.”

Karl commented, “I’m really pleased to be involved with Tigers again this coming season. I’m looking forward to seeing and hearing the fans back in our building, giving the lads that much needed home-ice advantage. It will be great to push for another championship and more trophies. It’s a pleasure to work with Tom, and Baz and I are looking forward to helping the team in any way I can.”

Tom Watkins, Head Coach and General Manager, said, “I’m delighted to have both Karl and Baz back on the bench alongside me. We form a good coaching team and have done for a number of years and all bring something different to the group. They provide me with a lot of insight and support to be able to make the best decisions possible often when under a lot of pressure. Both have been an integral part of championship-winning teams in the past and as a coaching team, we are highly motivated to keep that winning mentality going forward.”
