More exciting news for Telford Tigers as we announce another player signing! The club are pleased to announce the return of Ben Washburn.
Washburn has developed his hockey in Telford through the junior hockey system, progressing through all the Telford teams; Venom, Trojans, Titans and Tigers. The 21-year-old who has played for the NIHL team in Telford for the past five seasons is pleased to be returning to Telford Tigers for the upcoming season saying:
“I’m excited to get going and build on last year. I think that we were unlucky not to win anything last season, so to now have the opportunity to build on that experience with the main goal being silverware is a challenge and an objective that everyone on this team is gunning for.
Player coach Bowley was just as happy to have Washburn back on board for Tigers 2 commenting:
“Ben has just come off a great season and I think he’s certainly got a lot more to give. He grew in confidence game by game last season, was extremely reliable as a two-way centre, strong in face-offs and did a fantastic job when I moved him to play on the wing.
He’s more of a creative player but I believe he is more than capable of adding more goals to his tally, as he has great hands, a good shot and skates very well. I am looking forward to helping Ben develop further and add more of an attacking edge to his game!”

New for 2018/19 Tigers are offering individual player sponsorship at £200. The package includes a personalised ‘special’ third jersey with a company name or family name patch, announcements on match nights, a small advert or logo in the match night programmes and a signed player photo.
