Telford Tigers are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian forward Max Dukovac ahead of the 2026/27 NIHL National season.
The 24-year-old arrives in Shropshire following four successful seasons competing in the highly regarded NCAA Division I, where he established himself as a consistent offensive contributor while playing in one of North America’s most competitive university hockey environments.
Head Coach Tom Watkins believes Dukovac has all the attributes to make an immediate impact for Telford Tigers.
“I’m delighted to have secured Max for the new season. He stood out to me from the first time I received his details and watching his video confirmed he ticked all the boxes. He’s joining us after four solid years playing NCAA Division I hockey, where he contributed with good numbers in an environment that demands a high compete level.
“Max is a highly skilled and talented player who skates well, handles the puck effectively, and uses his skating and hands in one-on-one situations to create opportunities for himself and others while seeing the ice very well.
“I think Max will fit right into the team both on and off the ice. We’ve had many discussions over the phone and text, and I have enjoyed chatting about hockey and the World Cup where he showed a very keen interest. Although he’s very keen to get over here, he will arrive a week late due to a family commitment.”
Dukovac is equally excited to begin the next chapter of his career and experience playing in front of the Tigers fans.
“I can’t wait to get over to Telford and hit the ice. I’m really looking forward to playing in front of the fans and doing everything I can to help bring them pride!”
Dukovac becomes the latest addition to the Tigers’ roster as preparations continue for the 2026/27 NIHL National season, bringing further speed, skill and offensive quality to the line-up.
