The Hexagon sponsored Telford Tigers would like to apologies for the cancellation of yesterday’s fixture against Whitley Warriors.
The coach carrying Whitley broke down about 70 miles away from Telford whist on the way to the rink. Whitley informed Tigers and the league and all parties were in constant contact whilst progress was monitored for both a mechanic, tow truck and a replacement coach.
Due to where the coach broke down, Highways England were involved in ensuring the safety of those on board and also other road users on the A38. This included not allowing the offloading of the Warriors kit in to a live dual carriageway lane.
As soon as it became apparent that the game would not be able to be started and completed at a reasonable time for fans and players alike. The joint decision to cancel was made.
Refunds are available for all those who purchased tickets. If you purchased a ticket online, you will automatically receive a refund via the payment method that you used to book the tickets. For those that purchased tickets on the door yesterday, please contact Oakengates Theatre via email (Theplace@telford.gov.uk). They will process your refund.
We are now negotiating an alternative date / time to re-arrange the fixture and will announce the outcome as soon as possible.
