Telford Tigers are delighted to announce the return of Deakan Fielder for the 2024/25 season. Fielder, will continue to wear the number 26 shirt and returns for his fourth year in Telford. The 24 year old defender who was part of the club’s title winning team in 2022, racked up 78 penalty minutes last season mainly in defense of his team mates and will have a similar role in the coming season.
Deakan commented on his return to the club, “’I’m really happy to be back for my fourth season with the Tigers. After the disappointing way our season ended last season, I’m hungrier than ever to win and there’s no better feeling than winning in a Telford Tigers jersey. I am looking forward to seeing the fans back in the jungle in September.”
Tom Watkins, Head Coach and General Manager, commented on the signing of Fielder, “Deakan is a hard nosed physical defenseman, a player who plays with a ton of commitment every night and is happy to stick up for his teammates when required, which is something every team needs and is respected by those in the game.
He’s very much a player who likes to defend first and plays in all those defensive key situations. He works hard at practice and challenges his teammates. We have spoken about some areas of the game I feel he can develop further and I know with his dedication and focus he can elevate his game.”
