Howells Steps Back from National League

Telford Tigers can confirm that Finley Howells will be stepping down from the National League roster ahead of the 2025/26 season, but will continue under contract with Telford Tigers 2, who will compete in the NIHL North 1 Moralee Division.

After careful consideration, Howells has made the decision due to increasing work and personal commitments, which would make continuing at National League level a challenge going forward. After open and supportive discussions over the summer, a mutual decision was made for Finley to step back from National League responsibilities while continuing his involvement with Tigers 2.

A product of the Tigers pathway, Finley has been a dedicated and consistent contributor at senior level, known for his high-energy performances and commitment to the club. While stepping back from the National League, his experience and leadership will prove invaluable as Tigers 2 prepare for their debut season in a higher division.

Head Coach Jason Silverthorn commented:

“With Finn dropping down and right into my Lap we couldn’t be happier! A high level local Telford kid staying in the Tigers fold as he tries to get his work / life balance right is great. Make no mistake, his level is NIHL and above, but while he’s getting adjusted we are happy to support that.”

Everyone at Telford Tigers thanks Finley for his continued commitment to the club and looks forward to seeing him back this season with Tigers 2.
