Jonah joins Tigers 1

Jonah Armstrong

Telford Tigers are happy to announce that Jonah Armstrong has been signed from Deeside Dragons as a replacement for Sam Hewitt who left the club a couple of weeks ago.

Watkins said “I’m Delighted to have secured a replacement for Sam Hewitt in youngster Jonah Armstrong.”

Jonah is no stranger to Telford or the Tigers having played some of his junior hockey here in Telford, he has also played at Midlands and is a GB 18’s prospect.   Jonah is coming to support Denis Bell but is very keen to improve and develop, challenge Dennis with the long term goal of becoming the Tigers number 1 netminder.

Watkins continued “I know Jonah and his family well from his time in Telford and when he attended my goalie camps. He is a dedicated young man and this will be a good test for him in an environment that will support his ambition.”

Jonah will join the team at his first practice next Wednesday.

Telford Tigers 1 travel to face Bracknell on Saturday night (6pm), before the return game at Telford Ice Rink on Sunday (6pm).

Telford Tigers 2, meanwhile, have just one game this weekend, against Coventry Blaze at the Skydome on Saturday (7.30pm).
