Luka Takes Aim at Trophies for Telford.

Telford Tigers are delighted to announce the return of import forward Vladimir Luka for the 2024/25 season. Nicknamed “Bazooka” by the fans due to the power of his shot, the 42 year old Czechia born forward returns for his fourth year with the club and will be looking to build on a superb 94 point season last year. Luka was the Tigers’ top scorer last year with a remarkable 52 goals.

Vladimir commented on his signing for the club, “I’m really grateful to continue with Telford Tigers because they have become part of my family. The management, the players and of course the fans. Our targets this season will definitely be to play some good hockey and win a trophy. I believe that Tom will once again put together a team that will be challenging for honours. I’m not the youngest anymore, but I’ll do everything to get us where we belong.”

Tom Watkins, Head Coach and General Manager, commented on the signing of Luka.

“’What does Vlad bring to the team? Goals. Lots of goals and he has improved his goal tally in each of the last three seasons for us. I think the team we have signed this season will compliment Vlad and allow us to get pucks in areas of the ice where he can affect the game in the offensive zone and of course on the power play. It’s tough to find a player who will put the puck in the net and with such a quality shot as Vlad, he can change the game in an instant so I’m very pleased to see him back with us for another season.”
