Pre-Season Fixtures Confirmed with Widnes Wild

Telford Tigers are pleased to announce the details of further pre-season fixtures. Telford Tigers 2 will take on Widnes Wild.

Widnes Wild were founded in 2013 and since then, they have won a 7 trophies, including being crowed Laidler League champions for three consecutive seasons. Wild made the move up to the NIHL Division 1 Moralee league in 2021, meaning the two teams will be facing each other for the first time in over three seasons.

Despite not facing Widnes Wild for some time, Tigers 2 are no strangers to Wild’s home ice after they were crowed Laidler Playoff Champions earlier this year with Planet Ice Widnes as the host venue for the two day event.

The two challenge games will be played across two weekends with the Wild hosting the first of the two games on Sunday 3rd September, facing off at 5:30pm.

Telford Tigers 2 will then host the second fixture of the pre-season series the following week on Saturday 9th September with a face off time of 7:30pm.

Telford Tigers 2 coach Scott McKenzie is looking forward to the two challenge games commenting:

“Pre-season fixtures are invaluable stepping stones that pave the way for success in the upcoming season and Widnes will be a great challenge for us. They have some experienced players on their roster
and we expect to have a good battle against them. We will embrace each fixture as a chance to set the tone going into the new season.”

Tickets for the game in Telford will NOT be part of the season ticket package and fans will need to purchase tickets separately for this game. Details of ticket prices and on-sale dates etc. will be announced soon.
