Telford Tigers are pleased to announce the return of defenceman Liam Preece. Liam will return to playing as part of the Club’s Laidler team and will wear the number 75 shirt.
The 30-year-old’s stats date back to when the defenceman appeared on the roster for Telford Rockets in 2005. Since then, Liam has progressed through Telford Rockets and Titans before making his debut in a Tigers jersey in 2017.
Preece, who can play upfront as well as in defence, has completed two very respectable full seasons with Telford Tigers 2. Preece’s first season with Tigers saw him bag a reputable 21 points. The defenceman has also had ice experience with the Telford Tigers National team as well as NIHL North 1 side Solihull Barons. Preece completed his last year of icing [before Covid] with the local rivals before making the return back to Telford for the upcoming season.
Telford Tigers 2 coaching team Scott McKenzie and Doug Wildman are pleased to have signed Preece for the upcoming season commenting:
“It’s great to have Liam back with the Tigers this season. Liam lives locally and is fully committed to Telford. He is a hard-working guy that is passionate about the game and hates losing. He is going to add depth to our line up and we are delighted to have him return.”
Preece is also looking forward to returning to Telford Tigers commenting;
“I’m thankful to Scott for having me back at Telford. It’s my hometown and having grown up watching Tigers I have always been proud to be able to wear the jersey. Expectations for the Tigers 2 team are extremely high this year, with an exceptional line up and a great coaching staff to lead us, so I’m very much looking forward to getting started to a fresh season.”
Liam’s own and loan shirts are available to order now for £75 each (Home and Away). Please see the Tigers’ Online Shop for details.
