In an exciting turn of events, Telford Tigers would like to announce the return to the ice of #20 Tom Watkins.

Tom said “I never have actually come out and said I have  officially retired and I’m extremely excited to be in a position where I will take to the ice again.

I made a decision three years ago to move behind the bench for the good of the team and concentrate on Coaching. It proved to be the right decision and I have been extremely lucky to have enjoyed some success in that role.

I love playing and it’s going to be fun to be out there with the boys. I felt good at practice, enjoying competing and have a big desire to win. I’ll take it a week at time for now, as we have some young guys coming through but  it’s up to them to take my spot but I’ll be working as hard as I can to make sure they can’t !

I would also like to welcome MJ Clancy to the club. MJ is a good kid and I’m looking forward to working with him to help him improve. He will benefit from a ton of opportunity here playing U18, NIHL 1 & 2. He is another young player we have with lots of potential. It’s up to MJ put the work in.

This weekend I have called up Brodie Jesson who will be with the NIHL 1 club. He has worked extremely hard to improve strength and conditioning to earn the opportunity. Dedication is the key.

We will also have Dan Mitchell, Jed Moreland and MJ Clancy making their debuts. It’s an opportunity to throw them in at deep end in a non pressure environment to evaluate them further. I’m more than confident in their abilities and look forward to watching them progress. “
