Telford Tigers are delighted to confirm that Andy Watt and Tom Lauder will rejoin the Tigers 2 coaching team ahead of the new season.
Andy Watt returns to the Tigers 2 coaching team for the upcoming season. A familiar face on the bench, Andy played a key role in helping the team achieve a historic Laidler treble. He’s set to continue overseeing in-game strategy and supporting player development.
Tom Lauder, returning alongside Andy, was a massive presence last season—not only for the support he gave on the bench, but also for the energy he brought to the team environment. His return is a key part of maintaining the culture and chemistry that have driven Tigers 2 forward.
The duo will complete the coaching team alongside player-coach Jason Silverthorn, who will head up the team for the 2025/26 season.
Jason Silverthorn, Tigers 2 Head Coach, commented:
“Great to have Watty and Tom back on board for a second consecutive season! My first call when I decided to take this new challenge on was to Watty to see if he would be keen to work together again. After last season, steering the group to the treble, it was top of my list to secure his services. It’s not easy being a player coach but when you trust the individual behind you and they understand how you want to operate it makes life so much easier.”
“Tom was massive last year, not only for the support he gave Watty on the bench but also his positivity and energy around the group. He’s built a great partnership behind the scenes and solid relationships with the players we have, this is a huge part of a team being successful!
Pleasure to have got both gentlemen on board again, not only are they smart students of the game but more importantly they are good people!”
