Telford Tigers are delighted to confirm a significant number of returning players and coaching staff as preparations continue for the club’s second season in NIHL North Division 1.
After a successful debut campaign in NIHL North Division 1 last season, Tigers 2 have retained the core of the squad that has driven the club’s progress in recent years, providing a strong foundation to build upon heading into the 2026/27 campaign.
Among those returning are Josh Hustwick, Brodie Jesson, Ryan Leese, Kyle Ferguson, Dan Mitchell, Matthew Byrne, Josef Lauder, Charlie Webb and Kyle Watt, who have all played an important part in the club’s continued development and recent success.
Tigers 2 will also continue to provide opportunities for emerging talent, with Tyler Somerton, James Mather and Taylor Stanton all returning on two-way agreements, allowing them to continue their development while gaining valuable experience across both Tigers teams. Meanwhile, Mathew Peckett joins the Moralee side on a full-time contract after an impressive start to his senior career, while James Smith returns to the Tigers 2 roster after stepping down from National League hockey, adding further quality and experience to the group.
There is also continuity behind the bench, with Jason Silverthorn returning as Head Coach. Having successfully guided the team through last season as a player-coach, Silverthorn will now focus solely on coaching as he steps away from playing duties. He will once again be assisted by Andy Watt and Tomas Lauder, ensuring the coaching staff remains unchanged heading into the new campaign.

We’ve built something really special over the last few years, not just in terms of results, but the culture and standards within the dressing room. Every player who’s returning has earned their place. They know what it takes to represent this club, and they’ll be vital as we continue our journey in this league.
“We’re not finished with the roster just yet, but we’re really happy with the foundations we’ve put in place. We know the challenge ahead will be tougher than ever, but it’s one we’re all excited to take on.”
