Ahead of the upcoming 2026/27 NIHL North 1 campaign, Telford Tigers 2 are thrilled to confirm the addition of defenceman Oliver Turner to their squad.
The young blue-liner arrives in Telford as another exciting addition to the Tigers 2 roster, bringing with him a reputation as a hard-working, defensively minded player.
Turner is expected to play an important role on the Tigers’ blue line this season, with his skating ability, reach and defensive awareness making him an ideal fit for the style of hockey the coaching staff are looking to implement.
Tigers 2 Head Coach Jason Silverthorn is particularly pleased to have finally secured Turner’s signature after several years of trying to bring him to Telford.
“I was really excited to get the signature of this young man. I have been chasing him for a few years, trying to get him down to Telford to work with him in a professional manner and help develop him to get to the next level. He will be utilised as a top-pairing shutdown defenceman who will be able to use his long stick and skating ability to make the game difficult for other teams’ top players.
Having known him through BOBIHC and playing against him, I know he has the right attitude. He just wants to work, get better and be given the opportunity to show how good a defenceman he can be, and he will get that chance this year. I’m really happy to have him on board and to be working with him this season.”
Turner becomes the latest player to join the Tigers 2 squad as preparations continue for the new season.
