The club are excited to announce an expansion of the Telford Tigers 2 coaching and support staff, reflecting their commitment to building a competitive a player pathway and well-rounded team for the upcoming season.
As part of this news, Telford Tigers are pleased to introduce Andy Watt as the new Telford Tigers 2 Bench Coach. Known for his time with the junior club over the last few years, Andy is now making the step up to the coaching team with Telford Tigers senior team. Watt will be responsible for running the game-day bench with support from the club’s coaching structure.
Additionally, Jo Oxley has been named as the new Team Manager. Jo’s extensive experience in team administration and management will be invaluable in ensuring the smooth operation of the team’s logistics and day-to-day activities.
Tom Watkins, Club Head Coach, and Jason Silverthorn, Club Assistant Coach, will continue to provide overarching support for Tigers 2. Silverthorn will be supporting Watt by take the lead on practice sessions as well as strategy development, ensuring that Telford Tigers 2 benefits from the club coaching team’s extensive experience and tactical knowledge.
Tom Watkins expressed his enthusiasm for the new appointments, stating,
“Having Andy and Jo join Telford Tigers 2 is a positive step forward for the club. Our objective with Telford Tigers 2 is to create a solid foundation for player development and team success. By strengthening our coaching and support staff, we’re not only enhancing our on-ice capabilities but also ensuring a robust support system off the ice.”
Telford Tigers 2 are also set to commence their pre-season training next month, with the newly appointed staff ready to make their mark.
