Another exciting day for Telford Tigers as we welcome a new player to the club. We are pleased to announce the signing of Liam Bartholomew to the Tigers 2 roster.
Liam began his hockey career in Coventry where he iced for the Coventry Blaze under 16 squad in 2014. The following season, the 16-year-old joined the Telford Junior System where he then iced for three seasons, appearing on the roster for Telford Tigers under 15’s and Telford Tigers under 18’s. After a great trial, Tigers 2 coach Callum Bowley was eager to get the youngster onto the roster.
Bowley is looking forward to seeing Liam on the ice during the forthcoming season commenting;
“Liam is a young talented player that impressed me on the trials. He can play both forward or defence and will always battle hard. After speaking with his coaches from last season, they all had very good things to say about him and said he always brings a high level of work rate and is capable on the puck, so I’m quite looking forward to helping him transition into playing senior hockey and continuing his development. He still has to play juniors again this season so he won’t be with us at games all the time, but this should give him a great opportunity to take that next step and get exposure to playing senior hockey.”
Liam is also looking forward to stepping on the ice for Tigers 2 commenting;
“I am really pleased to be signing for Telford Tigers 2, this is a great opportunity to develop my hockey at senior level.”
Liam’s #51 own and loan shirts are available to order now for £50 each (Home and Away). Please see the own and loan registration page for more details and to register.
