Telford Tigers are pleased to share some exciting news today as netminder, Oliver Johnson signs for Telford Tigers 2!
The youngster has a few years of experience under his belt having iced for numerous Northern teams. Oliver first ice a Telford Tigers side in 2013 where he made an appearance for the junior, under 16’s team. Since then, Oliver has iced for several Solihull Barons teams, Sutton Sting under 16’s and Deeside Dragons. Johnson’s NIHL debut was in 2017 where he was on the roster for Deeside Dragons. The upcoming season will be Oliver’s second senior season playing ice hockey.
Tigers 2 player coach Bowley is delighted to have signed Oliver commenting;
“I was quite impressed with Oli when he attended the trials. He’s a young goalie who wants to progress, and I think him and Zack will form a really strong goaltending partnership. I wanted to make sure we have strong netminders so we’ve always got an opportunity to win and I think we’ve got exactly that with the addition of Oli.”
Oliver, who will be returning to a senior league for a second season cannot wait for the new season to start commenting;
“I’m excited to be joining Telford Tigers 2 for the upcoming, and looking forward to playing with some old team mates who I played with when I first started at Telford back when I was 5.”

New for 2018/19 Tigers are offering individual player sponsorship at £200. The package includes a personalised ‘special’ third jersey with a company name or family name patch, announcements on match nights, a small advert or logo in the match night programmes and a signed player photo.
