The countdown to Christmas is on, and Telford Tigers supporters have plenty to get excited about. December will feature two much-loved events — the Teddy Toss and Skate with the Players; bringing fans, players, and the wider community together for a festive celebration on and off the ice.
The Annual Teddy Toss
The annual Teddy Toss weekend has grown into a fan favourite among the Telford Tigers community. This year’s event takes place on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December, and the tradition couldn’t be simpler… The moment the Tigers score their first goal, fans launch their teddy bears onto the ice.
What makes the event truly special is what happens next. All teddy bears collected from the ice are delivered to children across Telford — including those in the Children’s Ward at the Princess Royal Hospital, as well as local charities and community organisations — offering comfort and a festive lift.
- Please only donate new, clean soft teddy bears or toys.
- Make sure your teddy bear is securely wrapped/tied in a plastic bag.
- When Autocraft Telford Tigers score their first goal… Toss your teddy!
Fans will have two opportunities to take part in the Teddy Toss across Telford Tigers 1 and Telford Tigers 2 fixtures.
Saturday 6th December
Telford Tigers 1 vs Romford Raiders
Face-off 19:00
Sunday 7th December
Telford Tigers 2 vs Nottingham Lions 1
Face-off 18:00
The last few Teddy Bear Toss events have been an enormous success, having seen a total of over one thousand plush toys thrown onto the ice from both home and away supporters, and the club hopes to achieve the same again this year.
Skate with the Players
Adding to the excitement of the Teddy Toss weekend, Skate with the Players will follow both fixtures on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December, giving supporters a fantastic opportunity to share the ice with their favourite Tigers stars.
Skaters of all abilities are invited to take part. Whether you’re a natural on the ice or still finding your balance, it’s a great opportunity to share the rink with the Telford Tigers.
Telford Ice Rink will provide free skate hire to all Telford Tigers fans who attend each fixture.

During the skating session, there will be opportunities for autographs and selfies with the players.
