Telford Tigers Fans Unite: Protective Neck Guard Donations

In a poignant response to the recent mandate by the English Ice Hockey Association, Telford Tigers fans came together under the leadership of Mike O’Leary to collect donations, raising funds for essential protective neck guards for both Telford Tigers teams.

The initiative, driven by a collective commitment to player safety, stands as a heartfelt tribute to Adam Johnson, whose tragic passing prompted the English Ice Hockey Association to make neck guards mandatory for all players starting from January 1, 2024.

Mike O’Leary, a dedicated member of the Tigers community, took it upon himself to lead the charge in collecting donations from fans, showcasing the remarkable spirit that defines the Telford Tigers family. The outpouring of support and generosity from fans has not only met but exceeded expectations, underlining the community’s shared dedication to fostering a safe and secure environment for its players.

The funds raised by Mike O’Leary and the donations from dedicated Tigers supporters will help to provide both Telford Tigers teams with the necessary protective gear.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Mike O’Leary for his exemplary leadership and to the Telford Tigers community for their unwavering support.
