Last Friday we saw our players, fans, sponsors, volunteers and the wider community come together and support us at our annual Telford Tigers Race Night. The event was the first ROAR Club event to take place in almost two years after the Pandemic prevented the Club from hosting regular events, and this event was of course a roaring success!
The evening consisted of 8 races and a final auction race where the highest bidder won ‘ownership’ of a horse. Some lucky fans went home with extra money in their pocket, with the biggest win of the night being a £70 payout!
Telford Tigers General Manager and Head Coach was delighted with the funds raised on the evening commenting;
“I’d like to thank everyone that contributed to another successful race night, to all those that attended, sponsored races, jockeys, owners and trainers that support is much appreciated. Huge Thanks to Sharon Briscoe and to the volunteers that helped organise and run the evening it was a great success. It’s a lot of fun and great chance to meet the players away from the rink.”
A big thank you goes to all those who pledged their donations for raffle prizes and sponsored horses, jockeys and owners. And let’s not forget our brilliant race sponsors.
UK & Ireland Testing Board, Sailhouse Cars, Williams and Lamb Carpets, Jacksons Butchers of Shifnal, Integrated Electrical, Volvo Cars Shrewsbury, Dusters Cleaning Services and ABC Day Nursery.
The club would also like to thank everyone who volunteered and helped organise the evening; especially Sharon Briscoe who coordinated the event as well as Joanne Briggs, Rodger Gower, Richard Hustwick and Katie Edwards who helped throughout the evening.
All in all, it was a brilliant start to the Telford Tigers ROAR Club event calendar.
