The Telford Tigers are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian defenceman Jérémy Michaud ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 25-year-old blueliner arrives in Telford following an impressive hockey journey through the Canadian junior ranks. The left-shooting defenceman combines mobility, physicality and strong puck-moving ability, making him an exciting addition to the Tigers’ defensive unit.
Michaud developed his game in the highly competitive QMJHL before moving into U SPORTS with Ontario Tech University, where he continued to establish himself as a reliable two-way defenceman. Last season also saw him gain valuable professional experience in the ECHL with the Trois-Rivières Lions, adding another important step in his development before making the move to the UK.
Head Coach Tom Watkins is excited to add another quality player to the Tigers’ roster.
Jeremy is a guy that plays hard. He’s a heart and soul player. He plays physically, he’s in people’s faces all the time and has an edge to him. He is an excellent penalty killer, blocks shots and loves to compete on the defensive side of the puck. Jeremy is a guy his teammates and fans will love.
He’ll also bring great leadership to the Tigers. After captaining Ontario Tech University and spending time in the ECHL, he brings valuable experience despite still being a young player. I’m really excited to add Jeremy to our line-up.”
Speaking after putting pen to paper, Jérémy Michaud said he is looking forward to beginning the next chapter of his career.

I’m looking forward to meeting the guys, getting to know the fans, and experiencing Telford and everything it has to offer. Hopefully we can have a successful season together.”
Michaud becomes the latest addition to the Tigers’ roster as preparations continue for the new campaign, bringing further strength, composure and experience to the club’s defensive group.
