The Price is Right for Tigers! Hexagon Telford Tigers are delighted to announce the signing of brothers Jake and Lucas Price for the forthcoming season. Jake, 21, a left-handed shot defenseman was born in Solihull but played junior league hockey in Canada for Niagara Whalers. Jake will be added to the NIHL National League roster whilst 16-year-old forward Lucas will be added to the Tigers’ Laidler division team and also the Tigers U18 team. Jake will wear the number 8 shirt and Lucas will wear the number 10.
Jake commented, “I was a little hesitant going into my first pro season with a solid group of guys who have been together for a little while, but the whole staff and players have welcomed me with open arms and I’m really excited for the rest of the season and hope to bring home another championship for the fans.”
Tom Watkins, Head Coach and General Manager, said, “Jake has joined the roster as a late signing adding depth to our defensive core. We have seen previously how important that depth can be, it creates competition in the line up which is a good thing. He’s still a young guy and not played at this level previously but he is mobile and skates well which are key attributes to aid his progression at the National League level.”
Scott McKenzie Tigers’ Laidler team coach commented, “Lucas is a kid that I know well having coached him through the Midlands conference set up. He is a hardworking, gritty but skilled forward who can create and score goals. We are excited to add another young prospect to our squad and I expect him to have a big impact on our season.”
