Tigers 1 add Stokes to roster

Jordan Stokes signs June 26th 800w

Telford Tigers 1 are pleased to announce the signing of 19 year old defenceman Jordan Stokes for the forthcoming season. Stokes returns to the Tigers 1 team after appearing 26 times for the Tigers last season, including being part of the team that won the NIHL North playoffs. Stokes started last season on a 2 way contract with Coventry Blaze but will ice exclusively for the Tigers next season.

General Manager and Head Coach Tom Watkins said, “Jordan is a talented kid with lots of potential, he is still young and developing but has lots of ability and has a competitive nature which, in hockey, is key.  Jordan’s biggest strength is his skating ability, he is quick, mobile and strong. I think he can play with more physicality at times but not at the cost of sacrificing good defensive habits. “

Watkins added, “He is always in good shape and can play a lot of minutes. We will now be looking for him to progress further to aid the team’s on ice success.”

Jordan commented, “I’m looking forward to being back and picking up from last year, I’m excited to be back in Telford and to be competing for silverware as well as trying to earn ice time in key games.”

Jordan’s own and loan shirts are available to order now for £100 each (Home and Away). Please see the own and loan registration page for more details and to register.

New for 2018/19, Tigers are offering individual player sponsorship at £400. The package includes a personalised ‘special’ third jersey with a company name or family name patch, announcements on match nights, a small advert or logo in the match night programmes and a signed player photo.
