More exciting news for Telford Tigers as the club announces the return of defenceman Matt Price. Matt is another player who has progressed through the Telford junior hockey system and has developed into a key, versatile hockey player. The 20-year old has been a part of ice hockey in Telford for the past seven seasons, appearing on the rosters for Telford Venom, Trojans, Titans and Tigers.
Tigers 2 player coach Callum Bowley who labels Price as a “smart player who leads by example and does a lot of the little things right”; was pleased to have secured Matt for another season and had the following to say:
“Matt had a great season and is a player I can always rely on in crucial moments in a game. His attitude and commitment is first class, and he plays with a really good level of maturity when on the puck.
It goes without saying, he’s a top offensively minded defensemen in our league and I can’t wait to work with him again during the upcoming season”.
Price, who was awarded the end of season awards for Tigers 2 players’ player and coach’s player is delighted about his return to Tigers 2 commenting:
“I’m excited to re-sign with the Tigers and looking forward to building on last year’s progress with the core of the team still intact. I think the aims this season would be to make the final jump to win the league and then take that into playoffs, and win them too. Hopefully this is achievable with the extra year of experience we have as players and in the coaching department with Callum.”

New for 2018/19 Tigers are offering individual player sponsorship at £200. The package includes a personalised ‘special’ third jersey with a company name or family name patch, announcements on match nights, a small advert or logo in the match night programmes and a signed player photo.
