Tigers Covid-19 & Medical Officers Wanted

Following on from the recent confirmation that Telford Tigers are classed as an Elite sports team and are exempt from the new Government ‘Rule Of Six’, we are looking to fans of the Tigers to support us as we look to return to the ice.

Under the guidelines outlined by the DCMS for Elite sports teams, Telford Tigers require two voluntary officers to join the Club; a Medical Officer and also a COVID-19 Officer. The two roles will sit within the Club’s COVID Support Team and would be the lead on ensuring any suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases are managed in line with our management protocols.

The appointed Medical Officer would have medical oversight of the return to training of any athletes with suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 and would also work with the Club’s COVID-19 Officer to ensure any risk assessments meet the required medical aspects.

It would be essential that any applicant is familiar with emerging evidence related to COVID-19 pathology and would be expected to carry out the above roles.

For more information, or to apply for either Officer role, please contact Telford Tigers General Manager, Tom Watkins – tom.watkins@telfordtigers.net
