Tigers raid rivals to bring in Connolly.

Ross Connolly

Tigers raid rivals. Telford Tigers are pleased to announce the signing of defender Ross Connolly for the 2021/22 season. Connolly most recently appeared for Tigers’ NIHL rivals Raiders during the Spring Cup in March 2021, after recovering from a serious injury suffered during the 2019/20 season. The 22-year-old Scottish born defender is a left-handed shot and will provide further defensive options for the Tigers. Ross will wear the number 47 shirt.

Ross stated, “I am very excited to be coming to play for the Telford Tigers. It’s a team I’ve always admired and look forward to playing with. The chance to work with Tom Watkins and Jonathan Weaver, both former Great Britain internationals, will only make me a better player and gives me the chance to learn from them. Telford is a top-end team that are always competing for silverware so I will have to push myself every shift to keep up their high standards. I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and get started and hopefully have a good season for the Tigers.”

Tom Watkins, Head Coach and General Manager, said, “I am delighted to welcome Ross to the club. As a left-handed defenseman, Ross has good size, is strong and mobile and he impressed during the Spring Cup after being out for much of the previous season. He is very keen to get going and we think he will have a positive impact on the team and complement the group well. He’s got real upside, he moves the puck well but plays solid defense at the same time. He is looking to progress his career further and has the desire to play at a high-level long term and we are happy to help him achieve those goals.”

Telford Tigers would like to thank ASR Property Improvements for their continuing support in agreeing to be Ross’ personal sponsor for the forthcoming season.

Ross’ own and loan shirts are available to order now for £100 each (Home and Away). Please see the Tigers’ Online Shop for details.

In the 2021/22 season, Tigers are again offering individual player sponsorship at £400. The package will include a personalised ‘SPECIAL’ exclusive third jersey with a company name or family name patch, announcements on match nights, a small advert or logo in the match night programmes and a signed player photo.  The jersey will be worn for cup games and playoff games and will not be available as a replica.
