Washburn is Back for Tenth Season!

Telford Tigers are delighted to announce another player returning to the Telford Tigers 2 roster with the return of Ben Washburn for his tenth season with the club. The 27 year old brings a wealth of experience to the team and was a key part of the Laidler League and Cup double winning team last season.

Washburn returns to the team having chipped in with 33 points last season scoring a career best 18 goals, including an all-important goal in the Laidler Cup Final. Wearing his trademark number 40 shirt, Washburn will also continue in his leadership role as Assistant Captain this season.

Washburn commented on his signing for the club,

“I am thrilled to be back in Telford for a 10th season, I am also honoured to be trusted by the new coaching staff to continue my role as Assistant captain. I love the boys and am looking forward to seeing what the new set up brings.”

Andy Watt, Tigers 2 Coach, commented on the signing:

“Ben’s passion and team-first attitude make him a key leader. He’s a highly motivated, versatile player and is always ready to contribute with grit and determination. Last season he turned up when the pressure was on. His cup final performances showed how he can make a real difference on the ice…”
