Tom Watkins has moved quickly to secure the services of D Man Danny Rose as the challenge to build his NIHL D1 team starts to unfold. Danny is a firm favourite with all fans in Telford at whatever level of Ice Hockey and he has been a solid part of the team roster for many seasons developing into a real talent as each season goes by.
Tom was especially pleased with his first signing “I’m very pleased to be able to announce Danny Rose as the clubs first signing. This will be my 6th season working with Danny and in that time he really has developed and matured into a very reliable D Man. He was very much an integral part of a solid D core in the Tigers League Championship success last season; he is very reliable and comes ready to play every night. I know exactly what I’m going to get from Danny”
“I will be leaning on him heavily this year in all key situations. He is still a young guy but comes with a wealth of big game experience; he knows what it takes to win”
Danny was equally enthusiastic about his return to the Tigers “it’s great to be back in Telford, this will be my 6th year here, so it was a no brainer really to come back when I was asked. The team set up, coaching/off-ice staff and fans are great here so it just makes my decision easier to come back. Obviously with the league changes and everything that’s gone on it will be different and so will the teams, but I feel like this is going to be an exciting and tough season and I can’t wait to get it underway!
