The club are pleased to announce the that Rhys Howells will be back for another season with Telford Tigers 2.
Rhys is another product of the Telford Tigers junior system, having iced for Telford since 2014. Howells started his hockey career with the Telford Tigers under 16’s team before progressing into the Under 18s team in Telford. Rhys made his senior debut in the 2017/18 season when he joined Telford Tigers 2. Howells has iced for the NIHL side for two seasons now whilst also playing for the Under 18s team and Midlands Under 17s team.
Tigers 2 coach Fielder is delighted to have secured Howells for the upcoming season commenting;
“I’ve worked with Rhys for most of his junior career. He used to be a defenceman and now he’s progressed into a hard-working forward. He loves to get in front of the net and cause trouble for the opposition goalie which is great. While he’s doing that, he managed to pick up goals around the net which will help our team this year.”
Rhys, who will be returning for his third season with Tigers 2 is looking forward to solely playing with the NIHL squad commenting;
“I’m excited and looking forward to the new season ahead, I believe that the team can have another good season this year. It’ll be my first full year of playing solely senior hockey and I hope to play a bigger role this coming season. I am also looking forward to working with Ces our new coach, who will help progress the team towards a great chance of silverware.”

Again, for the 2019/20 season, Telford Tigers are offering individual player sponsorship at £200. The package will include a personalised ‘SPECIAL’ exclusive third jersey with either a company name or family name patch, announcements on match nights, a small advert or logo in the match night programmes and a signed player photo. The jersey will be worn for cup games and play-off games and will not be available to purchase as a replica.
